Manufacturing Manager Position

The Role
As Manufacturing Manager, you will be the operational backbone of Signetik's product delivery, overseeing everything from contract manufacturer relationships and component sourcing to product testing, programming, and shipment. You will work cross-functionally with engineering and sales to ensure that customer builds are quoted accurately, executed efficiently, and delivered on time.
Responsibilities
- Issue and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to contract manufacturers (CMs), evaluate responses, and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive and sustainable cost structures
- Source electronic and mechanical components for new product introductions, engineering change orders (ECOs), approved alternates, and ongoing production builds
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product and customer build pricing, ensuring alignment with BOM costs, labor, and margin targets Product & Inventory Management
- Own the product number assignment process: create and maintain a structured product numbering system and associated master spreadsheet to ensure traceability and consistency across builds
- Manage inventory levels for components and finished goods, coordinating replenishment cycles to minimize shortages and excess stock
- Partner with engineering to evaluate and qualify alternate components and support ECO implementation across active production builds
- Oversee inspection, functional testing, programming, and shipping of finished products, ensuring all units meet quality standards prior to shipment
- Develop and maintain test plans in collaboration with engineering, and work with contract manufacturers and production partners to ensure proper test setup, execution, and traceability
- Manage production scheduling and prioritization to meet customer delivery commitments
- Prepare detailed manufacturing quotes for customer builds, including BOM cost rollups, NRE estimates, and lead time projections
- Execute customer build orders from quote acceptance through delivery, serving as the internal point of accountability for on-time, on-spec production
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturer's representatives and key customers, participating in regular check-ins and business reviews as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, or supply chain role within an electronics, embedded systems, or contract manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) workflows, including RFQ processes, CM management, and production oversight
- Experience sourcing electronic components and navigating approved vendor lists (AVLs), alternates, and lead time constraints
- Strong understanding of BOM management, product costing, and pricing structures
- Proficiency with inventory management practices and familiarity with ERP or MRP systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and test documentation
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail
- Effective communicator, comfortable working with engineers, sales staff, customers, and external vendors
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where roles can be broad and priorities can shift
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
